Recipe: Baked Figs with Grappa

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces/400 g dried figs

  • 3 cups/500 ml almonds

  • 3 tablespoons/30 ml sugar

  • 3 ounces/200 ml grappa

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. With a paring knife, partially cut open the figs in half making sure to keep the fig intact. Add 2 to 3 almonds in each fig and press together to close.

  3. Place the figs in a baking dish and sprinkle with sugar. Add the remaining almonds and grappa to the baking dish. Bake the figs for 30 minutes, or until the figs are slightly golden.
