Recipe: BBQ Beer Sauce

Rank: Easy

Time execution: 1 hr 5 min

Can be served for: about 3 1/2 cups

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 3 tablespoons small-diced onion

  • One 6-ounce can tomato paste

  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard

  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershiresauce

  • 2/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • One 38-ounce can plum tomatoes

  • 2/3 cup beer, such as Heist Brewery Hive Five

  1. Heat a medium to large saucepot over medium heat. Add the olive oil, garlic and onions and cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add the tomato paste, brown sugar, yellow mustard and Worcestershire; stir together. Stir in the apple cider vinegar and simmer for 2 minute to combine the flavors. Add the canned tomatoes and beer and blend with an immersion blender. Simmer on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors have blended, about 45 minutes.
